Web + Video Specialist

Do you consider yourself both left-brain and right-brain? Do you see things from an artistic perspective, but also get excited about data in spreadsheets? We’re looking for someone who not only loves to create, but also appreciates the science and process behind revenue generation and structure. More than a traditional digital marketer, we need someone to fuel our creative direction for online video and web content and at the same time is comfortable with the strategic parts of the marketing process.

Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced, creative marketer who can deliver a beautiful and modern website that focuses on a solid content marketing strategy with the purpose of driving leads. We also need a person skilled in taking storyboard content ideas and turning them into marketing gold. From customer testimonial videos to social media promos, and everything in between, the right person will be excited to create these assets, and understand the science behind designing an effective landing page, website, or piece of content to drive conversions.

The Web + Video Specialist will report to the Director of Marketing and will work closely with our Content Manager to create needed assets. This position will also work closely with our Digital Learning Specialist to ensure internal expertise is produced at top quality.

Because of our industry’s best practices and our company’s focus on expertise and content, this position is more creatively focused than a traditional digital marketer. As a result, our marketing strategy overall can continue to grow and produce thought leadership content across a multitude of mediums.

Responsibilities/Functions

  • Owns the refresh and ongoing maintenance of the company website and subsequent landing pages
  • Plans and implements web-based marketing strategies and campaigns via the company’s website
  • Creates landing pages and other conversion opportunities as needed
  • Coordinates with our Content Manager on the scope and direction of website content creation
  • Coordinates with our Content Manager to determine video content, webinar content, and in-person style interview content for use in promotional materials
  • Collaborates with the Marketing Team to design and execute automated email-based campaigns and associated assets
  • Acts as the owner of our website performance, with a focus on optimizing for search and user experience as well as expanding our overall web presence
  • Oversees SEO and paid media advertising campaigns
  • Collaborates with team to draft, implement, maintain, and revise online marketing campaigns to drive sales and revenue to the company
  • Works with the leadership team to understand business objectives and revenue goals, as part of the strategy development process
  • Reports on key results and other predetermined KPIs on a regular basis, such as website traffic, lead generation, revenue attribution, and so forth
  • Proactively stays on top of marketing industry trends and alerts, so as to inform future growth strategies and opportunities
  • Is the point of contact for related vendors and agencies, as needed

Skills and Personal Attributes

  • Must have web design experience
  • Very helpful to have graphic design experience
  • Very helpful to be familiar with Marketing Automation Tools and CRMs
  • Works well on a small team
  • Resourceful and able to find solutions independently
  • Is comfortable working with non-marketers across teams to produce content
  • Has experience developing project proposals and subsequent timelines with efficiency
  • Is comfortable and productive working remotely (with eventual in-office requirements)
  • Values diplomacy and teamwork
  • Is passionate about helping Educators

Travel

  • Minimal travel to Plano, TX headquarters and a few select trade shows and/or video shoot locations throughout the year, overall travel less than 15%
  • This position is based in Austin, TX, or surrounding areas, with the ability to be in the Austin office regularly as needed
  • Our offices are currently closed during the COVID-19 pandemic with all work being done remotely. All travel mentioned here is for a future date once our offices and usual travel abilities are safe to resume.

Knowledge of Tools

  • Wordpress, including from-scratch implementation (required)
  • Basic Design Code such as CSS and HTML (required)
  • Video Editing Software (required)
  • HubSpot Experience (helpful)
  • On-Site Video Shoot Equipment (able to recommend and use)
  • Adobe Creative Suite (specifically Illustrator and PhotoShop, helpful to have InDesign)
  • Google Ads (helpful)
